چکیده

A brief overview is given of recent developments in the analyses of large phases and CP violation in supersymmetric unified models. The problem of experimental electric dipole moment constraints and large phases is discussed. Implications of large phases on supersymmetric phenomena are reviewed. The possibility of generating a muon electric dipole moment much larger than implied by the scaling relation dμ/de ≃ mμ/me from lepton flavor nonuniversality and within reach of the recently proposed Brookhaven experiment for a sensitive probe of dμ is also discussed.

CP conserving constraints on Supersymmetric CP violation in the MSSM

We address the following question. Take the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) with the two CP violating SUSY phases different from zero, and neglect the bound coming from the electric dipole moment of the neutron (EDM): is it possible to fully account for CP violation in the kaon and B systems using only the SUSY contributions with vanishing CKM phase? We show that the B...

Supersymmetry exhibts new sources of CP violation. We discuss the implications of these new contributions to CP violation both in the K and B physics. We show that CP violation puts severe constraints on low energy SUSY, but it represents also a promising ground to look for signals of new physics. CP violation has major potentialities to exhibit manifestations of new physics beyond the standard...

EDM–free supersymmetric CP violation with non–universal soft terms

Non–universality in the soft breaking terms is a common feature in most superstring inspired SUSY models. This property is required to obtain sizeable CP violation effects from SUSY and, on the other hand, can be used to avoid the Electric Dipole Moment constraints. We take advantage of these qualities and explore a class of SUSY models based on type I string theory where scalar masses, gaugino...

Can flavor-independent supersymmetric soft phases Be the source of all CP violation?

Recently it has been demonstrated that large phases in softly broken supersymmetric (SUSY) theories are consistent with electric dipole moment constraints, and are motivated in some (type I) string models. Here we consider whether large flavor-independent soft phases may be the dominant (or only) source of all CP violation. In this framework, epsilon and epsilon(')/epsilon can be accommodated, ...

Small Flavor Conserving CP Violation in Superstring Models

It is well known that supersymmetric models allow new sources for CP violation that arise from soft supersymmetry breaking terms. If unsuppressed, these new CP-violating phases would give too large a neutron electric dipole moment. We discuss a mechanism for suppressing SUSY phases in stringinspired supergravity models in which supersymmetry is assumed to be broken by the auxiliary components o...
